The Blender Theory: What is with Blender with Glass Jar?

April 10, 2018

The glass versus plastic battle has been around for a few years concerning blenders, but do you know that there are many things that a blender with glass jar does better than blenders with the plastic jar? If you are interested in this battle, then you are free to continue reading this article to the very end.

Blender with Glass Jar

To plastic or to glass, that is the question. When it comes to a blender, there are two types of jars that come with it: the plastic jar and the glass jar. Each one of them got their own perks, and none of them are better than the other. Some people told me that glass is the way to go while others told me that they cannot live without having a plastic jar blender. They told me that glass blenders are only for fancy people who can get a replacement when the jar broke apart.

They are right to some extent

Blender with a glass jar is easy to break because they are made of glass. Obviously, breaking glass, no matter how hardened it is, will always be easier than breaking hardened plastic. I have a better chance of breaking glass-made eyeglasses than plastic-made eyeglasses (and I know this from experience. One fall and the glass eyeglasses shattered instantly. This plastic eyeglass I got is still strong even when it came in contact with the floor for many times).

That is why you cannot have too much power when you blend in a glass jar because it will shatter the glass. Plastic blenders are better at withstanding any momentum generated by the spin of the blades and the pressure of the mixed stuff. Modern blenders often use plastic because their blades are powerful.

But glass blenders can be relevant in this modern age

Glass blenders are definitely much safer from plastic blenders for one reason: glasses do not leave a dangerous chemical trace while plastics do. While plastic blenders are powerful and strong, they are also better at becoming a health hazard for humans.

The substances within plastics are dangerous if consumed on a daily basis, so it will be dangerous for you if you use the same plastic blender on the account of tear and wear. Some told me that the substances are not that dangerous because we have adapted to it, but I say to them why take any risk in if we can avoid them? This is why I think a blender with a glass jar is still a viable option in this modern era.
